Relief Canyon brings Nevada radial stacker back to work

Americas Gold and Silver confirmed in late December that it retuned its radial stacker to production at its Relief Canyon project in Nevada following a May 2020 structural failure.

The stacker, which has returned to the leach pad at the operation, required off-site repair work that was extensive, the company said, though the unit was tested for several weeks once the repairs were made. Additionally, the unit also received new software upgrades to boost efficiency.

In addition to the open-pit project, the mining operator also owns and operates the Cosalá operations in Sinaloa, Mexico, and manages the Galena complex in Idaho.
