Canada’s first REE plant to come to SK

The Canadian province of Saskatchewan (SK) will be home to the country’s first rare earth processing plant, thanks to C$31 million in funding from the province’s government.

The facility will be owned and operated by the Saskatchewan Research Council, and helps to fulfill a facet of the province’s 2030 Growth Plan.

“Saskatchewan’s new rare earth processing facility will be a catalyst to stimulate the resource sector in Saskatchewan and across Canada, providing the early-stage supply chain needed to generate cash flow, investment and industrial growth of the sector,” SK Premier Scott Moe said.

The facility is expected to come online in late 2022. Construction is scheduled to begin imminently.
