Global Battery Metals acquires Lithium King

Canadian-based Global Battery Metals Ltd (GBML) said March 5 that it had acquired, through the staking of federal placer claims, the Lithium King property in Utah.

No financial details were released, though the company said the land position on the west side of the Great Salt Lake Basin near Wendover is made up of 7,900 acres that has the potential to host a lithium and magnesium brine deposit in an existing mineral producing location.

GBML said there is excellent existing infrastructure in the area, including easy access to Interstate 80 as it runs through the property. Also, the area sits within a mining friendly jurisdiction.

GBML President and CEO Michael Murphy said the company is excited to add Lithium King to its battery metals project portfolio. “Samples from the property have recorded positive lithium values. We look forward to rapidly advancing this property, beginning with digitizing historical data, water sampling, modelling, and ultimately leading to drill testing,” added Murphy.
